I have a couple original take-offs, usable as is, exterior anyway, but could maybe use refinishing. Personally, I'd use as is, but then I don't care much about show-pieces. I think one is marked 7 Mag, in fact. I'll get you some pics after the Seahawks game.
I'd recommend bedding or rebedding whatever you get to fit your action precisely, but trial-shoot first for a base-line. If it meets specs right off, yer good to go.
I just used the worst one of 3 or 4 for myself on a rebarreled '06 to .270 action. Just so I'd have a stock to fit me rather than scope eye, scrunched up use on my wife's stock. Switch stocks.... same POI.
