OP jc189 Campfire Tracker J Joined: Dec 2019 Posts: 3,043 Florida	I took my 9 year old granddaughter and 7 year old grandson Deer Hunting this weekend. It was our youth hunt weekend and their first Deer hunt. We have spent lots of time at the range and studying shot placement, both of them are ready. My granddaughter was able to connect with nice doe Saturday afternoon. My grandson did not see a deer, but He did shoot a pig. It was his first kill. I couldn't be more proud of both of them. They both made perfect shots. Both the deer and the pig were dropped dead in their tracks. Didn't even take a step. My granddaughter was shooting a 6.5 Creed with 130gr eld-m's and my grandson was shooting a 6.5 Grendel with 123gr sst's. both clean pass through's with excellent results. It was a great weekend at camp. Needless to say there were lots of hugs and high fives after the shot. and lots of congratulations from the other camp members when they heard the little ones got it done. The smiles say it all. I bought a M. Miller Knife on the fire here to present to my granddaughter when she killed her first deer. Well, she earned it and was very happy when I gave it to her. We used it to skin and gut the deer. I'm gonna get the date engraved on it for her. She will always remember her first deer with Pop Pop. I got one for her little brother too but he doesn't know it yet. We still have time to get him a deer this season. My granddaughter getting busy with her new knife. Last edited by jc189; 10/30/22.
