My bushes rebounded like they always do after labor day and set tennis ball size globes all over again only to get frost nipped by mid October.

If I was closer I could help ya out. We had a bad growing season here this year with cold and torrential rains through the better part of June.

I usually give a lot to my wife’s 75 year old uncle but after he came down to the house and cussed me and threatened to toss Renegade50 in jail, I just soon toss em in the ditch

Overrated

Ripe tomatoes are bad enough, why in Hell would you want to eat green ones?

Love 'em. Just had a bunch, we had our first freeze a couple weeks ago, had to pick 'em all.

FGTs are wonderful.

My Mom, both grandmothers, all the female relatives, and women we went to church with were all big time cooks and I never had or heard of a FGT until I was grown. People always would pick green tomatoes just as they began to turn and put them indoors by a window to ripen so that bugs, worms, birds, and squirrels attracted by the red color would not mess them up out in the garden. They would still have the good "home grown" taste even though they were not vine ripened.

Maybe it is because this far down south, the heat of summer usually kills tomatoes or halts production months before frost could hit a producing plant leaving you with a bunch of green tomatoes to deal with.

Fried green tomatoes are awesome! On par with thin slices of fried yellow squash.

I made some for the first time this summer. Never had them before. They were excellent.

The movie was a hoot.

They taste wonderful too.

Believe it or not, they make a nice pie too, substitute for apples.
