Because more low income minorities buy tickets they can't afford. [u]CNN SAYS SO SO IT MUST BE RIGHT[/u]They say the lotteries market tickets more in low income areas. So who forces anyone to buy them? Many low income people are low income because they can't manage their money, wasting it on stuff like lotteries with extreme odds. I'll bet we'd be amazed at how many low income people had more than $50 in this last big drawing. That money could have been better used to buy 1/2 tank of gas.

I prefer the term "welfare claw back". People of all colors are on welfare. Never thought of it that way. Youre a wise man. The state is just getting a few of its welfare bucks back.

I remember watching a CNN reporter reporting live from Israel during a SCUD attack and the Israeli Military had to force him to get off the air as he was reporting in real time and internationally televised, exactly where incoming missiles were hitting -- street names, intersections, addresses, names of businesses/buildings, etc., -- thereby essentially acting as a forward observer making it possible for Iraqi SCUD launchers to make adjustments. Then there was the other CNN reporter, a black man, who at that time was one of their top reporters, so terrified out of his mind during a missile attack that he had a nervous breakdown, all televised on live TV, and had to be sent back to the USA.
