Took the kids out shooting this weekend at the property, gorgeous weather for it. Sighted in a couple of rifles.
Mama was observing when she said "hey look a deer" some pheasant hunters next door kicked a buck over onto our place. Biggest WT I've seen on the hoof. Huge body, wide heavy rack with a lot of tines. Hoping one of us connects with him next weekend when season opens.
Our daughter (10 now) got a little coaching and was putting them in the 10 ring at 100 yards. Bought her mentor tag yesterday so she could go. She's ready to sit with Mom and whack a doe. Mama realized that punkin will likely claim her rifle so I guess I need to find her a new left handed one. Could be worse things I guess. 🙂 Good luck to everyone headed out this weekend!

I saw 2 deers. A little buck on Saturday and an unidentifiable deer that I’m pretty sure blew past on Sunday. Lol

My son saw a pile of them but not deer killed.

90 bucks worth of Piggly Wiggly shopping tonight.

Doesn't count the bourbon I already had.

Tomorrow it gets packed, Taco gassed up, ice in the cooler and it's 9 days at camp.

Cold front headed our way too. Perfect cuz 60° is bullchit.

One hour until I get on stand to see if Mr Big comes by, single digits with flurries on the stiff breeze. Got my packages of tinks 69 ready to go. I'm a fan of the bottles with the wick in them. I'm reminded of the time at chickenbuck when I used one of those buck bombs and tucked it into some fallen branches. I reached in to activate it and blew that scent up my arm and into my face. I cursed myself for days after that one. Lol. Good luck this weekend everyone!

I froze my rear off this morning but had some success. Warming up now before hanging up the venison, I'll try to post a pic or two if I can. Haven't done it in a while and not sure how to do it with a phone.
