What is your preferred method for purchase of a firearm out of state and secure funds payment?

As far as payments, there is nothing safer than a bank or personal check. I take personal checks all the time and actually prefer them over all other payment forms.

Check or a money order is my preferred choice but I'm not all that picky.

I most often use money order, postal.

For small items under $50 cash works fine. Done it that way with many people on the fire.

The ole postal money order isnt worth the paper it is printed on. And why in the world would you want to pay the gubment a fee to make them a short term loan on an instrument they may or may not cash based on funds at post office? Oh… and your time associated with going to try to cash it. Its 2022, click the dang button and quit being paranoid.

I deposit mine in the convenience of my home. Nary a problem.

I would say personal check or USPS MO. I like being able to pay online through a app but don't want there to be any PayPal fees on either end.

I prefer checks as I can deposit them using the camera on my IPad or iPhone and they clear in a day or two.

Personal check is my favorite and a USPS MO is my least favorite and they are often faked. I won't take ANY sort of electronic payment.

Works as long as you remember that you deposited the check or money order.

Awhile back I had a guy contact me and accuse me of stopping payment on a Wells Fargo Cashier's Check or money order before he could deposit it. It turned out that he had deposited my payment via the camera on his phone and put the check aside. When he tried to deposit it a second time, Wells Fargo denied payment and he was pretty agitated when he called me. I checked with the bank and they provided the account holder's name, account number, and the deposit date. I left that information for him via email or text and never heard back from him.

He could have at least apologized to you.

They won't; it's a direct violation of their terms.
