Obenaufs is all I use now as well. I use it on other leather goods as well (belts, cartridge carriers, gloves)

Maybe a little darker but they were pretty scuffed and faded so that's probably why.

Look new again now.

Obenaufs here. I prefer the liquid oil over the bees wax stuff

I really like Huberd's Shoe Grease (Since 1921) .... I use it on boots, shoes, belts, saddles and even my leather fedora. I've not found anything better. It needs-to-be turned upside down and allowed to sit a little while before you open it and stir it and apply it but it works really well, it's outstanding.

Another vote for Obenauf

This question comes up almost as often as "what's the best gun oil"?

In any event:

Cleaner (not sexy, but works)
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N9CE98K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Preservative (a little goes a long ways)
Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP Leather Preservative
https://smile.amazon.com/Obenaufs-L...2231bdf&pd_rd_i=B003SKCARK&psc=1

Silcone spray - I use Herman Survivors (walmart I think)

All in that order of application with appropriate drying times. In the sun usually works well.

my .223 cents worth.

Obenaufs is my first choice, Montana Pitch Blend is my second choice (and probably just as good.)

I have used Heberds with a heat gun and it's AMAZING how long a soak will last, and how long the leather stays happy.

I have used the same batch I made in 1963, 100% liquid silicone mixed with bear grease. Make sure boots are warm, apply mixture, set back in sun........do not set on ground if you have a puppy!
