Wife and I want a midsize (?) Suv. We don't like Yukons or Tahoes. I'd like a Hemi Dodge Durango. Who has one or knows enough, that can fill me in on good years, bad years, issues, problems , etc. ?
I have an '06 Dodge 2500. It's not a Durango but it has the 5.7 hemi engine and I've never had anything major wrong with it. Just normal, belts, plugs, idler pulley, battery. Be advised that it's a pain in the arse to get to the back 4 sparkplugs. It may be easier on the Durango 🤷🏻♂️
Also, anything older than I think 2008 has the front suspension design that is weak and can experience the "Dodge Death Wobble" because of a weak left side tie rod design.
My neighbor has had them since they were introduced. He doesn’t get the Hemi models as he doesn’t tow with it but overall seems happy with the power level. I’ve driven it on a few occasions and seems like a nice vehicle. Coincidentally earlier today my wife talked about trading off her CR-V and getting a Durango.
l told my pap and mam I was going to be a mountain man; acted like they was gut-shot. Make your life go here. Here's where the peoples is. Mother Gue, I says, the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world, and by God, I was right. - Del Gue

personally buy a four-door pickup and put a camper shell or something on it. I bet you're fuel mileage you wouldn't notice the difference between the two and neither will be good.
If I was buying one it sure as hell wouldn’t be a Dodge. I’m not a huge Toyota fan, but I’d damn sure take one over a Dodge.
If money was no object. I’d buy a Platinum series Ford Expedition with the big EcoBoost V6 engine.

I have a 2020 Durango R/T AWD with the 5.7 Hemi and really like it. Lots of room, seats 4 adults very comfortably, and has more bells and whistles than I'll ever need, but everything seems to function okay. Bought it used from Dodge dealer in 2021 with not quite 26,000 miles. So far, really like it, top speed that I could get was 117 (everything bone stock). With so much electronic stuff, I bought an extended dealer warranty which I usually never consider. Surprisingly good in the snow, just put Yokohama Geolander tires on it.
Not set on one. Just like Dodge or Chrysler products. My 96 dually has almost 200k with a v10, and my 08, 300c tops out at 155, and have had no major issues with it. I have a 20k cash limit, so some suv in that range.
