I think these are the pre 2018 version, made in Japan with wider FOV and higher transmission than the "improved" version after that. Would likely be a very serviceable bino for that price especially.

I got a pair last year about this time for that same price, I've been very happy with them thus far. That is a good deal on a pair of binos.

Doug doesn't have anything at that price with that kind of glass.
If he does , I'm not aware.
You have suggestions?

Do you want me to attach the PDF link for the warranty claim now or later?

I think the Athlon Midas is a better buy and the Gen 1 is available for under $250.

My pleasure to discuss different options. I do think the Athlon Midas G2 10x42 UHD is a great binocular and with BF sale of $247.99 it's tough to beat

Confirmed they are the older model, first gen. HD's assembled in Philippines.

I actually prefer them to the newer model. Nicer focus knob and they seem to control flare better to my eyes.

For <$300 I still think they are a great buy. I'm sure the recipients of these Christmas gifts will be pleased.

I purchased mine last year 2021 around Thanksgiving and they are the HD model, says assembled in the phillipines. So are mine the older model first gen or newer model? I like them regardless I was just curious.

I believe they are 1st gen. 2nd gen are from China. I personally think the 1st gens are better. The focus wheel is nicer and they seem to control flare better. Pretty dang nice binos for under $300.

I purchased the 8x42 Midas G2 Athlons UHD.
Definitely good glass for the money, on par with my Meopta meopros.
