I’ve got a new Spartan Precision Ascent Carbon Fiber tripod, and wondered how hunters carry them in the back country. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I usually tuck my tripod into one of the two the water bottle carriers and the nylon strap on the Kifaru cinches it down. Spotter goes inside the pack.

Nice tripod! Not sure if the Spartan will ride the way I carry a tripod? I purposely sought a tripod that would fit into the water bottle carrier.

Ditto on sliding it into the water bottle pocket (with two compression straps above to secure it). If I'm going a short distance to another spot, I'll attach it the same way and leave the spotter on it. It leaves your spotter vulnerable if you were to slip and fall, so I only do that if it's a relatively short distance.

Side pocket, every single time. Many miles. With a huge pack like an 80L ArcTryx Bora, maybe the center pocket area.

I only have the one strap on the side of my pack where the water bottle goes. It is so low, I’m afraid the tripod will fall out. Maybe I need a new pack. ✅

check to see if there are any other attachment points above, you might be able to add another compression strap????
