Coonie's - Hobbs, NM
Maine Powder House
Graf & Sons, Mexico, MO
Buffalo Arms
Powder, Inc - Clarksville, AR

Those just off the top of my head, there are others. Buy in 'bulk' (5, 10, 25 # at a time to save on shipping and hazmat fee, they ship it to your door. When I start to get low, I drive the 2 hours to Clarksville to pick some up . . . no hazmat or shipping.

High Country the B prefix means its a Bryan built Shiloh 25xx would mean 2500 + guns built after they bought Wolf Droge out . Probably built in 96-98. You need to get on the phone with buffalo arms and get some powder on the way. Did you say it's a 45-70? Swiss 1.5Fg probably your best bet or any FFg..mb

Waited 4 years, 10 months and 20 days for my Hartford. Saw a #3 Sporter on Shiloh's gun inventory on a Wednesday night, called them on Thursday morning and asked if they still had it available. Had it in my hands the following Tuesday.

Worth every day for the wait and anticipation for both of them.

If you guys could post some pics of your rear sights and what you love/hate about it... I'd be grateful.

Google up Montana Vintage Sights and look at the pics and prices . I have experience with a lot of them as do these other posters. Then ask questions about specific models...mb

Congratulations, I really like my Sharps.

As to wiping sequence between shots, forget all that mixture mess. Sharpsguy (Bill Bagwell) method was to blow down the tube ( I do it after every shot) then run a tight cotton patch after the barrel fouling starts to hinder the loading process.

Jorge, that works when the humidity is high enough but when you need 8-10 shots in a row about 1-2 minutes apart and need consistant accuracy it don't. A good wiping regimen does..mb

I understand. Bill Bagwell lived in Texas and that is what he taught me so that is what I use. Then again, I also don't shoot competitively (long strings).

I mix it up between 2F and 3F, sometimes Swiss, sometimes Goex, sometimes even some Kik when it’s all I can find.

Never tried any of that new fangled stuff in a falling block.
