With hunting seasons in swing and the holidays coming up I've been asked to paint a few stocks for friends so figured I would open it up here as well. This is for stocks ONLY, no serialized parts or barrels! I put up an image gallery (image gallery link) of works I've done. I use Duracoat and have a wide selection of colors and typically add Duracoat Softsand in the base color which is a rubberized particle which dramatically adds grip to the stock. As colors are added it smooths the particles slightly and these can also be smoothed using a piece of paper or automotive sandpaper before the other color layers if you're concerned about the texture against your cheek. I do not use a top coat as I haven't had any issues with wear or chipping so far and I've put my personal ones through numerous range and hunting trips without issue. Stencils are done on my cutter so patterns can be made larger or smaller. Barrel channels and bottom metal areas are all masked off prior to painting to prevent any fitting issues. I do my best to send pics as the stock is painted and make sure its what you envisioned. Prices will be $85 for 2 colors and $15 additional for each color beyond 2, plus return shipping (typically about $20). If areas need to be filled $20 and if a coating or hydro-dip needs to be removed $20. Check or money order preferred. If you want something personalized/ghosted in that can be easily done.
Post how many you want here and follow it up with a PM to work out the details and logistics.
Tstorm, my two stocks you did are holding up perfectly, you do an awesome job and your work is second to none,I am looking for some more stocks or you to do. thank you again and I see my two stocks are in your picture gallery
Thanks John_Boy! Really like the web pattern you do with spray paint. Spraying with the airbrush and HVLP gun just makes it easier to customize and fade things.
Mudder...glad they're holding up. Mine have held up well and seen a good bit of use. If you ever run into an issue just shout.
Hanco...can do. I made my stencils from scratch so the pattern won't be the same but I can work the pattern if needed.
SBrown...unless you know exactly what it was painted with the best way is to remove the paint. Some paints types don't like each other (like latex over enamel...the latex will peel off).
Look at his photo gallery, my Kimber was done like this
I’ve been here for 21 years and don’t know how to look at someone’s photo gallery. I tried searching for his name in the photo gallery sub forum and had no returns.
I’d like to get the forearm on my CVA Accura painted. It has a Wideland camo butt stock and I’d like the forearm the same. I don’t know how to post pictures. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mike
