I seem to recall some discussion about a good TAC load for the 358 Winchester, and my technological ineptitude seems to be keeping me from finding it. Could someone please help me out and point me in the right direction? Thanks

Hornady recently published basically John's exact TAC load for the 200 grain as well.

Duckcall, I've been doing some load work with TAC and 225 partitions and the 203 hammer.
if you'd like the load data from my rifle, a Kimber Montana, 22" barrel, send me a PM.

You don't need expensive , fancy bullets for the 358 win. My favorite is the 200gr Rem. Core lokt. Deer and elk don't like it.

I second that comment on "NOT NEEDING EXPENSIVE BULLETS" .....
Plain vanilla Speer 250's work every time. I load with BLC-2 powder, my savage with a Shaw barrel loves it.
I have tried 125 grain 158 grain 180 "sierra silhouette" bullet 9mm 147's... all fun with pistol powders on a rabbit hunt.
I have TAC but use it in .223's with 55 soft points.

49.5gr TAC under a 200 Accubond goes 2500 fps from an 18.5" barrel for me. Very accurate. No pressure signs.

We took my custom pre-64 M70 358 Win loaded with the 200 gr TTSX over 52 grs of TAC to Africa in 2012. A bunch of critters killed. No idea on velocity as I sold my chronograph some years ago.
