I just got off the phone with my lineman friend. He's been at it for over 20 years. He says most people don't have any idea how vulnerable the system is and that we could in short order be brought to disaster as a country with a semi organized effort by folks that know where to attack. He also told me that transformers are on backorder and delivery is over a year away on most if even then.
