So I go on YT to try and find this video of a Mountain Lion dragging a Border Collie out of a house, the news states it happened yesterday.
I had to sort through a few posted in the last 24 hours, when the hell are they going to start a Cat hunting season in California?

Yeah, management hunts should happen but California is WAY too liberal to allow that.

Why don't they at least relocate P22 somewhere far from neighborhoods?

That's what they did to the elderly mountain lion. P22 isn't elderly, and they say he frequently takes down deer. Should be fine deep in the wild somewhere.

He would just go back home. What's 100 miles to a cougar? Or he would find civilization to move into where he was relocated. He is getting old, kids are next on the menu.

If those big west coast cats would start eating young future liberals I would support leaving their endangered classification in place!

Cali banned cat hunting. Now they pay professionals to kill them instead.

I say they relocate them to downtown to help with the homeless problem. Maybe send a few to San Fran.

There are NO sportsmen (hunters/fishermen) on the state commission. The last one retired several years ago. It's not called Fish and Game anymore. It's Fish and Wildlife. Big cat hunting will never come back here. You would need a depredation permit and I'm not sure how often those get issued.

Not really all that much, with regards to professionals killing them. I had a talk with a Placer County trapper a couple weeks ago. Getting a permit to kill a lion is a long process. Long enough that after one has repeatedly killed your critters and hazing and then kill permit have been issued, by the time action can be taken by a professional, days have passed and the lion has gone elsewhere.

Here's another example: Up in the mountains, one homeowner had managed to obtain the permit required to trap a nuisance bear. A different bear broke into his neighbors house, and then wound up in the trap on the first homeowner's property. The second bear had to be released, as it was not the bear that the permit was issued for. And yes, the state is testing DNA to be sure which bear is which. The second bear could very well have been a known nuisance bear, with DNA on file, but it was not caught in a trap for which it was authorized.

I seem to remember a few years back when an employee of California Fish & Game did a legal Mountain lion hunt in ANOTHER state and they fired his ass. Guess he has a chance if winning a lawsuit for unreasonable termination or some such.

Banning hunting of Cougars, Bears, Wolves etc....doesn't do the targeted animals any good, nor People.
Top of the food chain critters need to be afraid of humans.

We had a Fish and Game or Wild Life head guy win a Raffle to go to Idaho and hunt to hunt down a known real bad Cat.
Well he got the cat and did Idaho a Favor.

When he got back to Commyfornia the Animal Right Group or Groups crusified this guy and he was eventually fired from his High Ranking Position.

One of their arguments was that it was ILLEGAL to hunt and kill Mountain Lions in Commyfornia so it was ILLEGAL for this Commyfornian to go to Idaho and Kill a Mountain Lion even thou he won the Raffle to do so.

We need to start hunting these A Hole Activists that twist the laws and Destroy peoples lives when they have done nothing wrong.

My best friend took a picture of a "coyote" at the hill in his backyard. There were a lot of ground squirrels up there. Then he showed me the pic. It was a mature mountain lion. He has small dogs. I told him to never let the dogs outside alone. Even with a coyote it would be problematic.
He's not a gun guy, and was ignorant. He lives in a nice residential neighborhood.

Not saying calipornia could do with less Mexicans or blacks but it will only take a LGBT or two recycled thru a cats azzhole to change things. As long as the cats take the right demographics they should be safe. It will get blamed on whites no matter what...mb

Trap a few big cats and turn them loose around the bars where the legislators get blind staggering drunk on a regular basis. Either the law, or hopefully the politicians, will get changed!
