More historically accurate than Braveheart, more historically accurate than The Partriot, not as ludicrous as the Rambo movies, much less entertaining than any of these.
Will Smith as a Haitian-born slave separated from his family to work on a Confederate railroad. Slaves treated horrible on the construction site to the extent of a pit full of dead slaves and heads on pikes from shot runaways.
Long and boring chase through a swamp pursued by a slave-catching trio led by a psychopath.
Actually the battle scene ain’t all bad, the confusion reminded me of the stories of the close-up carnage of the Bloody Angle and Franklin. An effort seems to have been made too to use period-correct firearms.
Kudos to the movie for giving so many Civil War reenactors and opportunity to play dead guys.
Birds? All the egrets call like sandhill cranes 🙂
If ya got Apple TV that’s where it’s headed, but don’t pay extra to see it.
"...if the gentlemen of Virginia shall send us a dozen of their sons, we would take great care in their education, instruct them in all we know, and make men of them." Canasatego 1744
The only thing I’d watch Will Smith do is hang from a noose.
Emancipation Proclamation lol. I’ve never one time in my life seen a Nig-ger or a Nig-ger loving liberal that could explain two things.
If the Civil War was fought over slavery as most re-tards and Nig-gers say. Why did Lincoln’s proclamation only free slaves in states that were in armed conflict with the US….not all slaves. Slaves in Union states remained slaves.
If it was really about groids in chains why did he wait almost 3 years of a bloody war to make his proclamation?
Lincoln was a mental retard. He is suspected of having been autistic among other defects. Kinda like another President I know of lol. Either way seems like if a Nig-ger was really concerned with slavery or their history they’d look into actuality reading the proclamation.
Will Smith must have made this movie as a tribute to everyone involved in the slave trade.
If a neighboring tribe had not caught his ancestors and sold them into slavery he'd be squatting in the jungle with a bone through his nose drinking contaminated water, rather than enjoying First World amenities courtesy of the White Man.
Well it should be good to stir the pot more, that's for sure. Since Obama managed to destroy race relations we have gone steadily downhill. Every few years they come out with another movie to aggravate it more.
This, I liked some of his earlier work but I hope he has now become "the third rail" for any film production.
Big fan of the 'fresh prince' laf, I came home one day when my brother was working for me, TV on fresh prince. Told him turn that off and don't have it on again, came home another day and he's watching the cosby show. He was always weird
PRESIDENT TRUMP 2024/2028 !!!!!!!!!!

Heads on pikes thang is from a slave revolt incident that occurred in South Louisiana right after the Haitian revolt. The revolt lead to the institution of the draconian slave laws in the cresent city. Before the revolt, slaves had pretty good run of the city. Many even conducting private business transactions with the consent of their owners. Revolt put a kabash on this. Gen. Wade Hampton ( the elder) was sent in with federal troops to the plantation where the revolt started to quell things. Locals stuck the heads of the perpetrators on the cast iron pickets of the fence at front of big house as a warning.
Edit. Also find it amusing that they were using slave labor to build railroad. When the canals and ditches in much of the south were dung by Irish immigrants because leasing of slaves was way too expensive.
