Watching a movie titled "49th Parallel" on TCM as I write this. Nazi sub is sunk in northern Canada and the landing party previously sent out to take over the radio shack at a Hudson Bay trading post. The party ends up killing several trading post folks while trying to commandeer a float plane. One of the Eskimos gets the opportunity to shoot one of the party and he has a 99. Of course, he scores, probably a 22HP. On now.
Haven't seen this reported before but haven't searched either.

Yep,saw that one too. By the time I posted about it the movie had moved on of course. One of those home front propaganda films made for Canada.

While I was trapped in front of the tube, rehabbing from my surgery, I saw a SciFi movie where a teen age girl was carrying a 99. If I can find it again I’ll post it.

Don Nope. This one was post end of the world. A guy went around collecting all the kids, keeping them in his compound, making them scrounge hi tech stuff for him. He made a hive of nano bugs, and put wrist collars on the kids. If they tried to escape he sent the bugs out to slice and dice them.

Sounds like a quality movie. You sure it wasn't part of the pain meds experience from surgery?

It's called, "A Feral World" not as bad as the B movies from the 50's and 60's. I'm going to watch it again. Maybe I'll fall asleep?

....or maybe use a 99 on the TV set for it daring to show you such stuff! A .303 works pretty good against an old Zenith, don't know how well it'll do against a flat screen.

I spotted a 99 in the movie Death Hunt with Lee Marvin and Charles Bronson. It was carried by Bronson's character. Two of my favorite actors. Great action movie. Set in early 1900's Alaska.

The movie is loosely based on Albert Johnson. A trapper on the Rat River. Lots of info about the incident the movie is based on. They never found out who Johnson really was.
His 99 is in a museum.

Death Hunt ranks high on my all time favorite movies, with Joe Kidd. Wasn’t Angie Dickenson the girl in DH?

Personally I liked all the characters and their prop guns they carried in that movies. I especially liked when Lee Marvin opened his foot locker and dug out his Colt New Service revolver to go along with his Krag carbine.

Would a real Canadian Mountie have been carrying a Krag carbine or an Enfield 303 in that time period? Honest question. I’d bet my boots the bullet that killed Albert Johnson was launched from a 303 British.
