Picked one up from a friend brand new in the box. He didn’t have a need for it and let me have it for a song & a dance.

Where does this model rank in the S&B lineup?

Reason I’m asking as it doesn’t focus at any yardage! It doesn’t have a side focus like many do. I noticed it first when sighting in @ 100. Fuzzy image that I couldn’t clear up.

Hunting on a spot of mine that gives me shots out to 400 there’s just no sharpening of the image from 100-400 using the ocular lens adjustment. I’m also seeing a “shadow” of the crosshairs adjacent to the actual crosshairs. So something is out of whack. Wondering why this model has no actual focus feature??? FWIW I’ve owned five Klassics and have never had a hiccup.

Hope not. Wouldn’t that be a hoot?

Guy I bought it from was an F-18 pilot…..orders this type of stuff from the source. He’s persnickety like that.

Please keep us informed. I think the CCP Junk theory is probably spot on as I have never, ever, heard of anything like this with an S&B. Your F-18 pilot friend surely knew about these issues when he sold it to you for a song, being so persnickety and all.

I can't imagine S&B letting something with these issues get out of QC.

Nah, he’s not like that. We’ll see what Schmidt says. One of the five Klassics went down on me years ago and S&B repaired it promptly. Erector issues.

Post some photos, including close-ups, of it and we can tell you if it's one of those cheap clones. I had a Stratos and was extremely pleased (and impressed) by it. Mistakes happen, and SB could have let one slip through. But before spending the $$ to ship it, let's find out what you have.

The answer to that is both yes and no. You can get the standard rheostat knob if you'd rather that than the programmable day-night/sun-moon feature.

That’s mine there. The programmable illuminated reticle. 2.5-13x56
