Mike Venturino has said a time or two that Pedersolis have won some BP marches against big-name rifles.
Brian Pearce wrote at least once that the Pedersolis are among the ones he considers strong enough for smokeless loads, but at hat level I can’t say.
What fresh Hell is this?

My nephew is interested and asked me to find out what I could. Mike Venturino has said a time or two that Pedersolis have won some BP marches against big-name rifles.
Brian Pearce wrote at least once that the Pedersolis are among the ones he considers strong enough for smokeless loads, but at hat level I can’t say. I appreciate it. HS 58

I guess what I'm really asking, is there anyone out there who bought one and wished they didn't, and WHY?
Thanks,
HS 58

I have no experience with Pedersoli but I do like my Uberti, very accurate for iron sights and Soulo vernier tang sight (made by Pedersoli). As an aside I found the following.
Gardone Val Trompia Italy is home to the major small arms manufacturers FAMARS and Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta. Among several regional makers of replica black powder firearms such as A. Uberti, Srl., and Chiappa Firearms, the Davide Pedersoli company leads in production of over 75 types of historical black powder muzzle loading and breech loading firearms and is also known as the dominant brand in black powder shooting competitions worldwide.

I do appreciate the information as I didn't realize that and will definitely pass that along to my nephew.
Thanks,

I had a Pedersoli Business Rifle imported by Cimarron. It was very well made and shot quite well. under 1" at 100. I think perersolis made be made on uberti receivers?
I sold mine on GB in as new shape for $1200 a month or so ago.
Overall I like these sharps, but I gave some thought to cutting down my barrel to 22" or so and fluting it heavily to reduce weight. They're not really suitable for any sort of hunting, but as a range toy they're excellent.

I think probably more than 1/2 of the purchasers wish they'd bought something else. I was one. A great rifle, but they're too heavy for any practical use. I think mine was 12lbs?

More good practical points as I recommended to my Nephew to try to physically look at one in Person. Sometimes that's easier said than Done. Thanks Again,

Gunmaking has been the major industry in Gardon Val Trompia since the last century and the people there are proud of their heritage.
Pedersolis’s lightweight rifle clocks in at just under 8 lbs. Mine with a 30” barrel is just under 9 1/2 lbs.
The buffalo hunters of yore or civil war snipers did not implement these stalking but chose to shoot from a fixed position. The Springfield 1861 rifled musket weighs in at 9 1/2 lbs as well.
Pounds per fun can’t be beat🦊

It sure looks like they build a nice Rifle as do others. The first hand knowledge and experience is what I'm looking for to pass along to my Nephew who is in the market for one. Thanks, HS 58

My first Sharp's was a Pedersoli and they're definitely a good rifle. I was still on the learning curve with loading blackpowder and cast bullets when an opportunity to trade into a Shiloh Sharps presented itself so never really got the loading process dialed in with it. As others have said, Pedersolis will shoot with the best of them.
I bought 3 Pedersoli muzzleloaders during all the Covid BS - 1 Hawken and 2 match rifles. I haven't had a chance to work with them yet but am looking forward to it. To summarize, I wouldn't hesitate to buy Pedersoli...
