I have a like new(less than 30 rounds fired), Browning Abolt Stainless synthetic, with the BOSS system in 243 Win. I can't find another one in 243 Win to compare it to.
A friend of mine says that they didn't make very many 243's in this configuration and did not know what to value it at.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks!

Boss hurts the value to me I'm not big on them either, but that being said, they do certainly work for "tuning" a load.

That rifle would easily bring 1000 on an auction site. Maybe 1200. The boss may hurt value to a few but not the majority.

More I think about it, I don't think Ive ever seen the 243 in stainless stalker with boss. I know they were made but don't know how many. I have one in 280 and would trade my left arm for it OP. That may be a hen's tooth u have there

That may be a hen's tooth u have there That's kinda what I was figuring as well. I've spent the last couple days trying to find another to compare it to, and came up dry.

I have at least 7 SS A-Bolt's all the BOSS option from 7mm-08 on up to 375 H&H.
The smaller caliber were not produced with a BOSS option in the same volume as larger more popular calibers (ie 270,30/06, 7mm Mag, 300 WM). So price point could run a little higher and also depending on the part of the country as values can vari if a local sale vs. internet.
Most of these SS version rifles trade in the $600-$800 range on average depending on condition and caliber.
I've seen the BOSS option all the way down to 22-250.

As a side note, the first rifle I ever bought with my own money was a Stainless Stalker in 270. It must have been 1992 or so. the damn thing corroded sitting in the gun cabinet. I always oiled it. Can't say it was rust, but the stainless had dark colored stains on it. Sent it back to Browning, they media blasted it and I sold it. Not a good experience for a guy just starting out and spending a lot of money that I didn't have much of.
