Had one for trout fishing seemed very stiff. It broke and never bought one again. I’ll stick to the cheaper brand names even shakespear is better in my book.

Gary Loomis once said, "I can build a rod that'll never break, but you wouldn't want to fish it"
I'll take sensitivity and lightweight over ruggedness any day.

Back in the mid 80s Wright & McGill Co. stopped making fishing rod in the USA and became an importer. An engineer and I packed up the mandrels we were building on that catalog year and shipped them to China. I remember him telling me “W & M knew how to build an inexpensive rod but we didn't know how to build a cheap rod”. We gave up the higher end to Pflueger and St Croix, the low end to Shakespear and Zebco. There was no room for W & M to go but out.
