A friend of a friend wants to get the bolt on a Remington 700 fluted. Who should I recommend?

Go to accurateshooter.com and look up the user "boltfluter". Good work.

Never used Kampfeld but have heard good things
Greg at southern precision rifles (bugholes) has done several for me that I’ve been happy with

I’ve had half dozen done by LRI. Price was reasonable, fast turn around and the work was flawless. And several options on types of flutes.

Go to accurateshooter.com and look up the user "boltfluter". Good work. Agreed, Wayne. Paul does really nice work and his turn around time is quick. He's one of the good ones, for sure. -Al https://www.boltfluting.com/

I'll go with Al and Wayne, none better than Paul.

I posted above, but there’s quite a bit of price difference in these “flutters”, for essentially the same work.

I used Twisted Barrel on that m700. He did the fluting, aluminum bolt knob, skeletonized the bolt handle and slabbed both sides of the action....then cerekoted it and the DNZ mounts. We had a miscommunication....he called to ask about what I wanted fluted. I wanted to have the slabbed sides cerakoted.....I knew I wanted the bolt milled after cerekote....didn't think about the action lol. I think the silver slabs would look better black...I was going to have it redone but after screwing kn the remage barrel, it shoots so dang well, I'm not willing to risk screwing that up lol. Not sure how the 450 Bushmaster would respond to a headspace variation...I don't think I can get it exactly where it is if I were to unscrew it. But I'm happy with the work...quick turn around and price was more than fair for all the milling and cerakote I had done.

Mauser06, is your rear action screw short? Lots of thread showing there. Nice look with the fluting. I wouldn't think you would need to remove the barrel to Cerakote the action, but I am no expert on Cerakote. Maybe just Duracoat the slab sides?

I’ve used Twisted and have been happy with communication and turn around.
Yup.

Cotis, quite the eye! Rifle wasn't bolted up in that picture.
I'm sure someone would be able to coat it without taking the barrel off..but to do it right the action needs blasted and completely redone...so I've been told.
