Benchmark is handy for smaller ss profiles. I have several and they shoot very well. It does rob Shooter71 from much loved lathe time but he seems fine using them.

I knew Ron and Jerry when they worked at
Arnold arms I was one of there first customers
And have been shooting there barrels from the beginning. I have installed hundreds and never had one come back
They really worked hard to learn the trade and make as good of barrels and anyone out there

I have owned and shot at least 4 of each of these: Krieger, Bartlien, Douglas, Lilja, Proof CF, Shilen.
I currently have 5 Benchmark and won’t be buying anything else except the Douglas Fwt CM which in a class of its own.

Agreed they make great barrels. I ordered three 22RF barrels they told me 12 months 4 months later I have them in hand. The 12 months I believe to be a worst case scenario.

I have three Benchmark barrels: a light sendero with 6 deep straight flutes in 338 LM @ 26", and two #5 contour with deep spiral flutes (6XC and 7 SAUM) @ 22". All three are less than .5 MOA rifles. AEM Precision won't use anything else. I certainly can't find any reason to complain.

Their .338 barrels (.338 Edge) are spooky accurate.

HCR built me a .280 AI on a 700 action and it’s a drill. 26”, 9 twist, Sendero profile. It’s the only Benchmark I have been around but would use another based on that experience.

Thanks.

in forty years i have used many.back to the days of hart, shilen and lilja.than i switched to broughton and used them exclusively.all button rifled and they all shot tiny holes.if tim had not closed shop id still be rebarreling with them.for me now i will use benchmark if i can get in a reasonable timeframe.there may be a equal but none better from what i have seen.luckily for shooters and hunters there are many excellent barrel makers out there.but customer servive after the sale is why many shoot brux.

Cut or button rifled?

I've got a #2 SS on a .260 rem, McMillan Mountaineer stock and a trued SS Remington action with a Trigger Tech trigger. Bullet holes touching ever time...

All,

Thanks for the feedback. I placed my order with Benchmark and hope my results mirror those above.

Thanks.

Benchmark are good guys! I’ve known some of them for 20 years and done a lot of transactions with them. Several of my friends have Benchmark barrels and they all shoot sub MOA. They’re actually located in one of the buildings that is on the dairy farm where I buy our milk and I stop in often to BS.

If I needed a new barrel Benchmark would be my first stop…and likely my last. 👍🏼
