Rooster, that ice sucks!

Luckily it's cold enough here that all we'll get is maybe 6-8" of dry snow aka piece of cake.

I do hate that ice turning to snow though, chitty.

It cut short my Nebraska deer hunt. We tried to out run it headed back east but icy roads and fog stopped us an hour or so from the ranch we were hunting. Held up last night and tonight in small town motel with all roads out for 200 miles closed. We will wait for conditions to improve.

We spent the weekend (5 days) at our Lobo cabin 40 miles south - got home mid afternoon. We got about 16 inches of snow down there on top of the 18" or so that we already had (got the snowmachines stuck thrice just trying to get 150 yards out to the groomed trail today!). Another storm to hit tomorrow- 8" forecast.

Once we got to the Oil Well Road, that too had been plowed overnight. Whew!

Our snow plower had made a quick pass through our home yard, so that was good, but I had the berms to deal with, plus the 24" of snow we got here on on top of the 18 ir so previous.. Way not done with snow moving.... but we can get in and out of the garage and house, anyway, but the dogs have a potty-path shoveled.

He is going to have to widen things out when he catches up - if he can. I might have to rent a Bobcat, if not. If I can.

We're good. Clocks are wrong at home - power was out while we were gone

My wife commented "I'd rather be at the cabin without electricity, than home when the power is out!"

Strange woman.... smile

Sure wish my big Honda snowblower- ordered in June- was here.

Between what the blower is costing, and my snow-plow bill to date, I could have almost paid for a plow for my truck- but that doesn't do potty trail and sidewalks at all well.

A few minutes ago, after I quit for the night - tomorrow the deck!

North Dakota roads

All of NoDak is no travel advised, I-94 is closed from Fargo to Bismarck. It took me 40 minutes to get through Fargo over to Moorhead tonight, about 12 miles.

It feels like a springtime storm because it’s still hovering around 32 degrees so the snow is extra heavy.

I’m really Looking forward to shoveling this [bleep].

Definitely been doing my share of snow plowing. Lots of elk hanging around the house because of the plowed road. [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc][Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Not a Hi-line boy, but a Black Hills boy.

It's real. I-90 closed from WY line all the way to Chamberlain (Missouri river). May open tomorrow if the snow quits and plows can get it opened, not counting on it though.

Conservatively, we have had at least 20" at my house. Shoveled the deck twice and have plowed the driveway three times to stay ahead. Went over to the MIL house tonight for the 3rd time. City, County and State have not been plowing roads. Blade all the way up and still bumping snow with it in the bottom mile of Spearfish Canyon and onward.

Will take some pics in the morning and post.

On a positive note, it is cold and snow is light and easy to push.

Light snow and 17 here. Wind is going to come Wed. and another5 to 6" but who can guess. Got to get the step son over after work. Winch cable has to be replaced on the side x side. It was to be here last Friday but showed up today. With the wind the place I take care I'm going to have to plow it out before I can get to the house. The Lady who I take care of her place for is gone for months at a time. I have the hunting rights and it is a great place to hunt for me and the family.

They are saying 8 inches friday. The world will stop here. Funny, when I was young here in PA, life went on with snow, now it is terror. Silly.

This heavy, wet stuff is just going to stick to the plow and not roll off the blade worth a hoot. We only have 3 inches so far (with 1/4 inch of ice underneath) but they are forecasting another 8-12 inches depending on which forecast you watch.
