Wabigoon & 160user: I got a notice today from my main pension plan that my check for $33,900.00 will be to me in January 2,021 - not in December 2,020 as was a possibility.
That will save me a bundle in taxes as I decided to cash out a "Survivors I.R.A." earlier this year before I knew about the unexpected over invested pension payout check coming.
Probably saved me $4,000.00 to $5,000.00 in federal income tax alone.
So that was a "good news" Christmas "bonus" - kinda like 160user got.
Going down to 2 degrees tonight and snowing lightly here now - "White Christmas" is assured.
Snowpack in my quadrant of Montana is way above normal for this time of year (good river fishing next year!).

My youngest boy got checked out again to make sure he had no ligament damage after breaking his wrist snowboarding last week. All clear!
My 94yr old grandmother made it through the Covid breakout in her nursing home. Tested positive but never had any symptoms. Her roommate passed away though.
Picked up a new rifle for my nephew and a shotgun for youngest this week. Excited to get them out with those before too long (damn cast)!
