I tend to think of this place as just a bunch of guys yukking it up and forget many people read this stuff.

A good tripod can make a ok spotter good and a good spotter great. Yup, the quality of the tripod is paramount I hate to turn this disaster into anything productive, but I am interested in the why of this. Is it that a cheap tripod vibrates ever so slightly, blurring the image? Yes, whatever power the spotter is set to, say 40x, that vibration is magnified 40 times Would a good tripod elevate the game of that Athlon Talos 20-60x80 that I bought from you enough to justify it? I use it very casually for spotting targets and a little wildlife viewing when I go out west. It would make it better for sure, however, it is limited to the quality that it is
