My favorite Irish is a vote for Tullamore Dew. Very smooth.

Well, I picked up a jug of Connemara!

I like it just as well as single malt Islay Scotch!

$40. a jug here, and good Scotch is $55.

I think I found a great Irish Whiskey!

Thanks again for the advice!

Good deal.

For those readers new to the game, Connemara is peated whiskey. If smoky Scotch isn't for you, than neither is this particular Irish.

Because you liked it, or hated it?

Best inexpensive Irish is Paddys. Just my opinion but for 20 bucks, it’s worth a try. Love my bushmills, teeling, green spot( fairly expensive) etc.

Redbreast 12. I want to try the cask strength.

Daily drinker is Tulamore DEW. I also like Bushmills Black Bush.

mathman;

Do you know if there are other Irish Whiskeys that are peated besides Connemara?

I really enjoy that peated flavor.

Thanks! Virgil B.

That depends.

If you're referring to Irish such as Redbreast or Green Spot, then I say bullshit.

this.

Cheap bourbon, as with most cheap alcohol, is only suitable for mixing.

I did take a sip of one several years ago that had a distinct vanilla flavor. If that sounds familiar to anyone, please let me know what it may have been. A friend had ordered Connemara and they brought him this instead.

(Mild Hijack) I bought several bottles of Benriach Peated - Cask Strength for friends this year. It was very interesting. Peated Speyside.
