The LONG awaited DWX is apparently on it's way to production, FINALLY. I know several folks have been waiting on it with bated breath. More or less a mixture of 1911 and CZ-75, melded together. It's been several years since it was announced, only to be put on the back burner time and again.

Me too, but there should be plenty of room for a rail, even on a compact version.

I hadn’t heard anything about it. At first glance it looks well made and a lot like a toned down CZ parrot.

I won't put a light or laser on it, hence not wanting the boxy frigging rail. Much rather have an optic cut....

An optic cut would seem like a no brainer. It obviously wasn’t built with old school lines in mind.

Seems like a miss to release without an optics options. Could give the 2011s a run for their money.

Mmmm….I’d consider it if they could enlarge the dust cover and rail a bit more.

Looks like a nice handgun; two or three variations would be nice.

They mentioned it. A bit over two grand, as I recall.

Agreed. No optics cut is a total whiff.
But...maybe there will be an optics-cut version as well, and it just wasn't in the video.

Was at the local Scheels last night and they had a DWX in the display. 9mm and $2,099 price tag.

Colonel Jeff Cooper envisioned essentially that gun in 10mm, i.e., the Bren Ten.
He would have liked the Dan Wesson even better, I think, due to the 1911 pattern slide and trigger.

Seems like a perfect candidate for a 10mm.

That's what I thought when they first announced it.
Kind of off topic, but has anyone heard anything solid about the CZ/Colt merger?

Another take on it, he's a bit more thoughtful than the other I posted above.

I’ve heard the compact model will be optics ready and later on the full size will be made available. I was really interested in one at $1700 when they were first announced but not at $2100 as is. My DW 1911’s have been my favorite so far, the CZ shadow was on my radar a few times. This when done right (compact with optic cut) will be interesting. As for the CZ/Colt merger, the little bit of stuff I’ve seen so far has been of the same high quality that Colt AR’s have been for the past 10-15 years.
