I’m thinking of doing a 16” 350 L build for my AR. Can you guys point me in the direction of a good accurate barrel for this and things you all have experienced in an AR setup with this caliber? Thanks

I bought a Shaw custom from E. Arthur Brown for my first 350L build. I also bought an MGM barrel for my Encore in 350L. The Shaw shoots as well as the MGM but is heavy. If I do another I'll get an 18" or 20" Faxon Gunner barrel. I like the round a lot as I don't shoot much over 100 yards anyway and flinging a .355 165 grain pill at almost 2400 fps (on an AR15 platform) seems like it would serve many purposes. Of course if you handload there's the extra step of belling the mouth of the case (unless you use a pill like the Hornady 165 FTX which has a rounded bottom (not really boattail) that allows you to skip the belling step. It is after all a handgun round (almost straight case). I've found best accuracy with Lil'Gun and H110. I also bought an Aero Precision extra large upper receiver for the build so I wouldn't have to file the ejection port larger to accommodate the larger case mouth during ejection. For mags I've found the CMMG's to function better than the ASC's and they are available in 5, 10 and 20 round mags. Seems to be plenty of Starline brass available so that shouldn't be a problem. I have found a shortage of dies though. Lee's were all I could find at the time but they seem to work fine. Also keep in mind there are no bore guides available for the 350L so cleaning can be a somewhat stressful event. I had Boretech make a bore guide but it took many months to get and I have to use rubber bands to keep the guide in place. Not ideal but is better than nothing.

That's about all I can tell ya about it. Hope it helps a little!

I have picked up a lot of brass for the .350 but I haven't made that jump yet. Maybe someday.

I built one --I keep seeing lots of ammo at wallyworld so it seemed like a reasonable choice to build one--stilll tuning it but things look good so far
