Tried to buy two left handed rifles. Made the guy an offer on both the rifles and a stock blank. He accepted then backed out claiming he misunderstood the offer and thought it was for one rifle and the stock blank. My offer was very specific detailing both rifles and the stock. Oh well.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

Got a new elk rifle. Tikka T3X lite roughtech ember, 300 win mag. Have been bowhunting elk last two times but thinking about a rifle hunt and wanted a little more punch than a 270. Never handled a Tikka before but have read a lot of good things about them. Have not shot it yet but I’m very impressed with it.

I saved myself about $400 by not buying a Ruger LCP Max after getting the regular LCP.
That little voice on one shoulder tho is still saying “You NEED one, buy one, buy one.......
The voice on the other shoulder is saying to the first shoulder “STFU, if he buys one he’ll only move along and fixate something else to “need”. I dunno which one will win in the end 🙂

I bought a truckload of seasoned, split and loaded firewood for 60 bucks. I don't really burn that much, but it's nice to have for our few cold snaps. I've never bought wood before and have been burning hurricane Sally debris for a couple years. I had an offer to travel 180 mi. roundtrip to cut free wood. 60 bucks seemed like a hell of a deal! Almost forgot about the blackpowder rifle, and everything that goes with it, that I bought a couple months early.

I'd saved the money earlier in the year due to the item being out of stock, but a Labradar lives with me, now. Just a coincidence it was near Christmas? Doesn't matter, it's here now.
Something I bought a little earlier that was intended as a Christmas gift to myself is a Giraud Trimmer. Even as nice as the Tri-Ways work, I still like the Trimmer. I've bought several case holders and a couple cutters and am learning how to switch between cartridges. I don't hate trimming, now.

A Winchester model 21 SXS. Went out looking for nothing special and this was at my LGS at a price too good to pass up. A real early one, 4 digit serial number that dates to 1933.

Hanco: Just before Christmas here in S/W Montana I attended a HUGE estate auction that included tens of thousands of rounds of centerifre ammunition about 20,000 rounds of rimfire ammunition, all manner of reloading components and reloading tools plus fifty or sixty great condition guns. I bought myself four of the guns - ALL in mint condition: #1: Glock Model 19 with accessories ($325.00) #2: Smith & Wesson Model 19 (pre-lock of course) with 6" barrel ($500.00) #3: Marlin Model 39-AS with 4 power Leupold Rimfire Special scope ($625.00) #4: Remington Model 700 Long Range in caliber 7m/m Remington Magnum & Leupold 6.5x20 gloss variable scope (appears unfired $875.00) I was out of mad money by the time they started selling the munitions and components - so saved a bit there. Already been offered a nifty profit on the Model 39-AS but debating whether or not to sell it. Will test fire the Remington 700 to see if it is more accurate than my current Elk Rifle (Remington 700 Classic in 7m/m Remington Magnum) - if it is that one will stay in my arsenal. The Glock will be gifted to my progeny as there isn't much if any "profit potential" there - and its a nifty "fool-proof" home protection gun. The Model 19 Smith & Wesson should bring me $300.00 to $350.00 in profit - it is SO clean I am hesitant to sell it - we'll see. Great "Christmas to myself" it was. Now to work on the New Years Resolutions - as I completely failed with them last year (2,022). Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

An AGM TS35-384 thermal and a Labradar. Oh, and a PSA 6.8 upper and a new lower to match and a thousand 120-grain SSTs with 700 pieces of brass and 8 pounds of AA2200 to go with it.
I was very good this year.
The wife got an Alexandrite ring she's been wanting. That's how I've been so good in 2022. RR, man you are set up good on 6.8 now. Didn't get myself anything this year. Can't remember the last time that happened. 🤣 Wish I'd thought of the Labraadar. Lol. I hope the 6.8 stuff is all as good as the consensus indicates. Sometimes conventional wisdom ain't wisdom at all. I'd been wanting a Labradar for years. I have a 35P and it's a great instrument, but the Labradar will make certain things much easier to do. When someone gave out the alert that orders were being accepted it became a kind of "now-or-never" proposition. Ya oughta give yourself a raincheck, Dirt.

Laws aren't preventative measures. In other words, more laws won't prevent gun crime from happening.
