We’re thinking about heading down that way for a few days. Never been there. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We’ll, I’m taking my wife, so I guess I’m searching for a bit more family friendly entertainment.

How long ago was this? Been a WC-130 base (reserve) and a training base for quite a long time.

To the OP, I haven’t been there since shortly after Katrina… there’s casinos and maybe some shows, but all in all, I’m not much of a fan. I spent most of a year at Kessler just before Katrina. The food at the casinos was mostly shellfish buffets that were overpriced, and the food left out too long. The beaches were more like baseball diamond dirt rather than sand, and the barrier islands kept the wave action down- so it was more like brownish still water than a proper beach on the gulf.

The most fun I had was taking my motorcycle north to the Great Smoky Mountains in long weekends.

The last time I was in Biloxi was in 1969, a few months after the Camille Urban Renewal Project.

I suspect they've tidied up a bit since then.

One and a half hours ya can be on Pensacola Beach, sugar white sand and now is the time of the year to be there. There is plenty to do on the beach or a short ride into Pensacola.

I would also select a spot in the Florida Panhandle.

This.

I live in Ocean Spring so trust me. Orange Beach or Pensacola is much prettier than anything on the MS coast line.

Look what they did to the blown down palm trees on the seaside drive in Biloxi

Visit Mary Mahoney's Restaurant at 110 Rue Magnolia, been there forever

The Beauvoir, has been mentioned, Jeff Davis home in his final years

Ohr-O'Keefe Museum worth few hours

St. Michael's Catholic Church, hope you can get inside, it has survived many storms

Have fun

Yes, go further east. Gulf Shores or Orange Beach Alabama are our go to spot for a beach get away. Great beaches, State Park with pier and great food.

Slightly more laid back than Florida.

I lived in Biloxi for many years, Biloxi stands 6th in the worlds largest ball of twine associations.
Here's a vid of The King of twine balls, Greg you seem like the kind who will enjoy it, all the best, happy trails.

There’s the new ( 3 yr old ? ) aquarium.

I’ve heard it’s worth it and not worth it.

So…

Buddy of mine always talks up Jourdan River steamer restaurant in bay at Louis.
