Well, the day has come. Movers showing up at 8AM. Loading the wife's car on the trailer this afternoon and outta here tomorrow morning for S. Utah.
Lived here my whole life with the exception of my tween years in Oklahoma.
It was a great place to grow up. Mountains, ocean, high desert, lush farmlands, vibrant yet small cities. Was a great place to raise my son for the same reasons.
It's a damn shame what we've let it become.
To my new neighbors in Utah, I will fight to keep your values and world as you have them.

The Pacific north west is lost the big cities just vote in one way the rest of the areas another but nothing can be done. Glad you were able to make the move.

I always wished the State of Jefferson would catch on Northern ca and southern oregon would make a hell of a good state to live in but libs will never give it up.

Sounds like a great place to “leave.”
I lived there in the early 80s. It was fantastic, I hunted bear, elk and blacktails, all successfully. Fished for salmon and steel head successfully. And the seashore and mountains were awesome.
Glad I don’t live there anymore.
How sad is that. I hate to tell ya, moving to MN isn't an upgrade.
