This project has been dragging on for years and years. I think I started it in 2013 when I bought this Husqvarna action and had it rebarreled to 6.5x55 for my wife. I probably started the stock work by 2014. The bluing was done maybe 2 years ago now, and I’m so damn close with the finish. I’ve stripped the finish twice as wife didn’t want overly glossy. I think I’ve got it a little better at this point with a bit of Rottenstone in the finish. Still have some other minor issues here like getting the sling swivels in but this is about what she’s gonna look like.

And yes I know the recoil pad isn’t screwed all the way on

Still haven’t shot it yet, but it’s a Shilen barrel screwed together by a pretty accomplished old timer who likes stuff like this. Was really hoping to have it ready by this last hunting season. Maybe next year, making it a solid ten years.

Wowie wow wow!! 👀

If she don’t like it, I’d be glad to take it and keep her suffering to a minimum! That is one of the nicest stocks I think I’ve ever seen! Just a jaw dropper, in my opinion. Nice job sir, and well worth the wait.

It’s Permalyn Sealer and then regular Permalyn finish. Bronze wool in between coats.

I got it off eBay from a guy in South Dakota that was doing lots of these at one time. Not sure if he’s still operating

That is one of the most beautiful pieces of wood I've seen on a rifle in a long time.

Looks wonderful. Try to finish it up and get her to take some game with it. Would love to see the pics with some game.
