Recently acquired a Ruger Hawkeye with a few accessories. What I'm looking to purchase is 2 or 3 boxes of Winchester Western Super X factory ammo, 256 Win. Mag. Any available out there??

I bought some from a guy on Gunbroker, still has 5 boxes available. They are not cheap though, but you probably had that suspicion already.

Apparently getting the ammo across the border is a problem.

Those things are super ultra cool. I bought one when I was about 23 years old....it was a pile of money. I think it was $1,000 at the time.
Unfortunately, it was a complete lame ass move by Ruger to reuse the name for a completely different product. What kind of dumbass does that? Oh yeah....a marketing guy.

Best bet is to reload. I reform brand new 357 magnum brass, then trim and anneal to spec.

With the Hawkeye I got 2 1/2 boxes of factory loads so I'm good to go for the immediate future. Just that I'd like to have a couple more boxes. If the need should arise, I would convert some 357 Mag brass but, for the sake of the head stamp aspect, I'd prefer to go with the originals.
