They have Jacks favorite rifle on display. I'm told that if the guy takes a liking to ya, he has been known to let an occasional visitor handle it.
Wow, thanks for bringing that up. I never knew that there was an O'Conner Center. I'll put that on my must do list.

I bought the latest issue of Rifle today.$9.00 for 54 pages.I think that will be the last one I buy.I would rather buy one of JB`s books and get some real deal info.

I have had every issue of Rifle since #1, but the last few years have not been worth taking so this will be my last year.
It isn't about the cost of the subscription it is just that like most magazines it has become one big advertisement. Articles which read like advertising copy about $7000 hunting rifles and $3000 rimfires fail to interest me.

My older brothers bought OL, FS, and FFG. I've subscribed to FFG since the mid 70's. Still a real good magazine. Another I liked until it was sold in the late eighties(?) was Peterson's Hunting.

Currently get FFG, NRA, DU, and Delta...more than enough to occupy my time on the throne.

Got to re subscribe, forgot I missed it. Used to swap with another hunter. Get Sporting Classics, Greys, American Rifleman, American Hunter, Northeast Outdoors. Swap with my brother and buddy for Guns & Ammo, Shooting Times, Rifle, Handloader, Maine Sportsman. Lots of good reading. I am also slowly making my way through 1950 to present collection of American Rifleman My Dad left me. When we are all through with the current mags we try to leave them at barber shops and other waiting rooms.

Never subscribed to it but Backwoods Home Magazine seemed to have some pretty good articles
on a wide range of topics and DIY stuff too.

Just noticed they have a lot on their website also.

I always read F&S and OL. I remember really liking Peterson's Hunting but confess that I don't read anything of them anymore.
