Not a fan of dried blackeye peas. I am a fan of fresh frozen peas. This year will be brown crowders or purple hulls. A pot of collards and cornbread will round things out.

Onion, celery, mini bells, and a jalapeño diced.

Fry it up with some bacon or country ham. Add BEPs and fold into rice.

I love the stuff.

Unless I ate them in the army, the first were in a mom. an' pop place in Amorello, Texas.

The place laced a bit of ambiance, the owner was giving the Bum's rush to a couple of teenage boys. laugh

Not a fan unless they're heavily laced with fried off bacon and smoked sausage.

I used to do pork roast, black eyed peas ,collard greens ,corn bread and mashed potatoes for NYears. I started my own tradition about ten years ago of making Shrimp, sausage and chicken Jambalaya. So no black eyed peas for me but I always enjoy eating them with some cornbread.

I'd love to see Iowa's version of this dish.

LOL

I bet it tastes like two things. Dog & schit.

Funny. Mean, but funny.

It’s always some dumb fugk from Iowa or Pennsylvania that do this schit every New Years.

They don’t even know what the fugk it means.

Idiots.

I don’t think Dads missed that meal in 9 decades. He lights up if you mention it in July. Lol.
