The first 3 digits would be a lot more helpful than the last for dating it.

The E in 3E would indicate a 1953 manufacture date. Only two models made that year were the 99EG with a thin, schnabel forearm or the 99R which had a fat & wide forearm with rounded end. 1953 serial number range was 670,000'ish to 725,000'ish.

LOL. well I screwed that up huh??? full number is only 6 digits which has been throwing me off everywhere I look. 100465 puts it around 1909-1910 but the boss code shows 1953??? It has a thick forearm/rounded. I'll see if I can get some numbers off the bbl?

Are you saying the SN is 100465? That can't be it. Has to be above 500K.
With that forearm it is an R.

Yeah, that SN is way too early for a 300.
Maybe a parts rifle? 🤷♂️

Maybe a parts rifle? 🤷♂️ I'll take a closer look at the pics he sent. Might be a 700xxx.

Maybe a parts rifle? 🤷♂️ If I put it as a 700xxx it shows 1953 same with the boss code...

Old receiver refurbed at the factory? Mis-struck serial number? Reading a 7 as 1?
What’s the barrel address say? Chicopee Falls?
Pictures are needed, I think.
