I love the .35 Remington and have taken deer with it, but what are some of the various species you’ve hunted with it and how did it perform?

Just NE whitetails. My dad shot a good bear with it in the '60s.
My heart's in the mountains, my heart is not here. My heart's in the mountains, chasing the deer.

Sorry, I’ve never used one. I’ve missed out I guess.

Whitetail deer, javelina and coyotes. And at least one ground squirrel. Works very well. Deer, javelina, and coyotes are what I call the South Texas big three where I grew up

A couple of whitetail deer with a couple of 35 Remington rifles:

I know a handful of guys from PENN who have taken black bear with a 35 REM. Even though the guys they hunt with insist that 300 WIN is what they actually need

I personally have only killed deer with my two 35 Remingtons. I did loan my Marlin 36 to a friend and he killed a mid size black bear with it. But other then my 8 deer and that 1 bear I have no other kills to report.
My Marlin was loaded with 220 grain Speer bullets. My Remington M141 is loaded with handloads and old Remington 200 grain Core Lokts.
All the deer killed had exit wounds and the bear was a clean kill but the bullet didn't exit. However my friend didn't look for it so I didn't get any feedback on the performance of that hit. Not a lot of info, but also nothing to complain about either.
9 kills with 9 shots.

Only whitetails with mine.
First deer I killed with mine took 2 shots. The first deflected off a small pine limb I didn’t see and the bullet hit sideways below the ear, aiming at the shoulder. I thought I made a good shot and was surprised when there was no blood. I followed disturbed leaves and found him hurt but alert. The 2nd round went through the shoulders and he was done.
The deflected bullet is what it is, certainly not a knock on the 35 Rem. I’ve been very pleased with its performance over the years.
When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

Most folks I know love them coupled with a lever or pump. Just really like the round and want it in a bolt? Do you bump it up to higher performance, or is it's normal stuff what you prefer? Not trying to be a jerk, just curious.

I have a Win M70 FW in 35 Rem. It's a custom gun that I had built. It replaced the junky Rem M7 I had before it. I already owned Win M70s in 358 Win and 35 Whelen and just wanted something different. Bolt action rifles have always fit me better than leverguns. That's why I chose the bolt action 35 Remington.
I use standard load data and see no reason to push it any faster/harder. If I need more power I grab a different rifle.
Medics bury their mistakes..

A dozen plus deer mostly with Remington Model 8 and 81 semiautos with a couple shot with a Marlin 336 and one taken with a Standard Arms Model G a couple years ago. Factory Remington Core-Lokts were the most commonly used ammo with 3-4 deer taken with 200 gr Hornady RN over 3031 powder.
I've taken a 35 Rem into the bear stand a couple times but no opportunity presented itself. I carried a Model 8 on a follow up a few times but thankfully the bear was dead when we caught up to it.

Not trying to be a jerk, just curious. Once a rifle looney , always a rifle looney ? I know it doesn't make much sense. A lot of my hunting with a rifle is on the ground in the woods and shots are usually 50 yards or less. I cast my own bullets and practice a lot with my hunting rifles in the typical standing position at the range. The lead I use was given to me and the rest of the components were bought 15 plus years ago so I can get a lot of practice in for cheap.I have 2 Marlin 336's, a CVA single shot (primitive weapon in Loisiana) and now a bolt gun that can shoot the same load.

I always thought a Remington 600, or model 7 in 35 Remington would be super nice. Winchester chambered the model 70 in 35 Remington in 1948 only making it very rare. I've even heard the British Lee Enfield was chambered in 35 Remington. That would be way cool. Please post pics.

They’re basically a factory sporterized 1917. I don’t know how feasible a Lee Enfield would be for the short and rimless 35.
