There is a gentleman that has a 3 day trapping course. Which city is a better place to stay for three days?

Tularosa is nice but Alamogordo has more options on hotels.
Just an FYI: I saw the hairiest man I'd ever seen in Alamaogordo, so there's that to look forward to if you choose Alamogordo.

Went to high school in Ruidoso lived in Tulie 18yrs and after a brief stay in NE Tx I’ve been in Alamogetto for 16 years
There isn’t a clean motel room in Tulie, lots of choices in Alamo & Ruidoso. Ruidoso has a nightlife, Alamo doesn’t
Is Dusty the trapping professor?

16penny, many people aren't familiar with the ringtails
you have there. Wayne Derrick is a well-known trapper
in that area.

If that’s the only choice, it would have to be Alamogordo. Neither option is good.

I'd never say a guy can't learn something from any good trapper but for an Alabama trapper I'm not too convinced that you will learn a lot about trapping critters in your area.
Ruidoso is a fun place all the way around

I'd never say a guy can't learn something from any good trapper but for an Alabama trapper I'm not too convinced that you will learn a lot about trapping critters in your area.
Ruidoso is a fun place all the way around Okay. There is a guy on Trapperman forum who took his class (Mr. Lucero is about 87 now) and traps around 500 or more coyote every year. He leaves Alabama this time of the year and goes to ranches in Texas to trap coyote. He said he learned a lot from Mr. Lucero.

I'd never say a guy can't learn something from any good trapper but for an Alabama trapper I'm not too convinced that you will learn a lot about trapping critters in your area.

I think those two were from Michigan or somewhere though. They were there more for the cats than the coyotes. I used to kill between 300 and 500 coyotes a year in west Texas and southern NM, but a large portion of them were not trapped, and I did it year round... not just when the furs were prime.
