This has been an excellent hunting scope, which I have used to take big game in the US, Canada, and New Zealand. Last was a moose at 475 yards in northern BC in September of this year. The scope is in excellent shape, with no marks on the glass. It makes a great addition to a lightweight mountain rifle, as the weight is only 16.8 oz., despite it being a 30mm tube. The only marks on the scope are on the eyepiece reticle adjustment ring, and the windage turret cap, where some blueing is scraped off when I slipped on some wet rocks coming down a NM mountain when elk hunting, and the those parts managed to scrape against a rock. It did not affect the lenses, or internal mechanisms at all. Notes: This is not the current HD model with the illuminated reticle. The current model is 3 oz heavier. You would be hard pressed to notice any difference in the glass. It has the standard plex reticle.

I think a lot of hunters have been persuaded they need a large power, heavy scope, when this range is just about ideal. 2 weeks ago I shot a cow elk at 225 yards, and forgot I had not turned it up from to 3 power when I was stalking a group of cows in a wooded area. As I was getting back into an area to shoot, some of the cows began to move, and I quickly found a tree to get a rest and fired a shot just as the cow I was shooting at began to move. It was later when I went to get the cow I realized I never increased the power, which I would have done if I had time. But by having it on low power, I was able to locate a cow quickly and get off a shot.
I just sold the rifle I have had it on, and no longer need it. If for some reason it doesn't sell I will give it to one of my kids for one of their rifles. At age 70, I am selling some of my rifles and consolidating what I have. I had a 7mm mag, as well as a 300 Win mag, and don't really need both. Thanks for asking.
