Does anyone own one of these? What is the verdict on over-all quality? The one I'm looking at is a2021 with 13,000 miles and the 3.0 liter Duramax and 10-speed Allison. I don't know much about htese trucks and I'm looking for a little guidance from anyone who knows. TIA

I looked at a similar truck in 21. Went with a gas 1500 ltz z71. The extra cost of diesel and maintenance vs little to no benefit from a towing and suspension perspective was the basis for my decision ultimately.

Now have to say after using the half ton Silverado for a year and a half, it sucked azz as a pick up truck. Nicknamed it the El Camino rather quickly. Replaced it yesterday with a 2023 2500 hd duramax.

Fwiw. I don’t call myself a ford or chevy guy, but my 13 eco boost f150 is a far better truck than the Silverado was. Still have it and it works every day just about

I bought a new AT4 with the 3.0 diesel. First half ton I bought in 21 years, previous three were F250 with the diesel engine and 4wd.

Truck is comfortable, I average a real 23-24 mpg if I am not towing anything.

The engine has decent power, the heaviest thing I pull is a 20 ft tandem axle trailer with a 38 hp tractor, front end loader, and bush hog. Pulls and stops it with no trouble. I like the 10 speed transmission. All solid so far at 50,000 miles.

When I first got it, there was a computer glitch that would not let it start. It was a sporadic problem that never left me anywhere. There was an update on the software and the problem ceased.

With all all the emissions controls in the new diesels paired with the increased repair cost for a diesel and the insanely high price for diesel fuel, I just don’t think a small diesel pencils out for most users. Heck, even a big diesel doesn’t unless you tow heavy a lot of the time, and even then many are happily switching to gas.

I finally drove a new diesel suburban the other day. It was quite and smooth and had enough power to move that pig. The torque was pretty impressive for a 3 liter. I've had one on order for about a year and thus was the first time I've even been to test drive one

They told me I might not see mine for another year because so few are allocated with the 3.0. If diesel prices stay like they are I may switch my order to the 6.2 gas engine. Diesel is $5 a gallon around here and I just filled up with gas for $2.99.

I have a bro in law who owns one, he likes it. Not a ton of power, but sufficient for his needs. Very good fuel mileage, but it better be to make up for the cost of diesel.
