I've got a mcgowen 18" 9 twist modified hbar that should be here in about 8 weeks. Gonna try to keep this as a deer/truck gun.

Anyone have any experience with the hornady 100 gr soft point or the 95 gr sst at 6x45 velocity? I'd prefer the 100 gr. Because I can get those for about 20 cents each, but if they won't expand we'll then they won't do very well.

I get 95 VLD bullets going about 2550 fps from an 18" barrel. Just built mine last year and only archery/muzzlelaoded this last fall. In mine Varget and RL15 did fine with the heavies. Good luck.

Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

Rifle has a 350 Legend barrel on it now... 18 inch heavy mag profile... plan on a 20 inch heavy profile, what ever duplicates the profile on the Legend.

I just loaded up some 55gr hammer hunter bullets for my 22” barreled savage 6x45. I’m thinking I should be getting around 3400fps with that bullet using xterminator

Bet that 85 grain Sierra SP is a dandy.

85-90 gr bullets is the sweet spot in the 6x45.
even going from 90 to 95 grains the velocity drop off is more than you would expect.

I’ve found out after a bunch of testing 85 grainers work the best for me. 20 inch blackhole barrel 85 grain sierra hp.
I’ve killed a bunch of whitetails and sika deer with that load. 5 @ 100 yards

Reason for 6x45 over 6 ARC?

Honest question.

For me it was the brass availability.

Built mine w a 7 twist 22 inch barrel from Black Hole Weaponry.
Benchmark and the 85 gr Sierra Game King hollow points gets me 2900 fps and little tiny groups.

Unfortunately, the 6x45 is a dead end bust in a Krunchenticker and second fiddle to a 223,due mag constraints. Hint.

In a good Bolt Action it is simply sensational, with the distinct COAL advantages inherent and there are some very nice things at 2.500"+ COAL there. Hint.

Coming full circle to Krunchentickers, the 6ARC is light years ahead of the 6x45 and brass abounds. My preference is Lapooey first and Starline ain't horrid,when/where brass is like to get compromised(in and around water,if only for starters). It'll do exceptional things with 105/08/10's,which greedily retain speed, slip atmospherics and bolster Terminal Effects. Hint.

The .243" 85gr SGK,is a steaming pile of fhuqking schit,with a HILARIOUS .311 BC and pales horribly,to a 75/77gr ala 223 at the same fhuqking speeds. Hint.

Pardon Facts. Hint.

THE pick of the litter however,is the 22PPC AFI in a Krunchenticker with 88 ELD's. She's a fhuqking PEACH in a Bolt Gun too. Hint.

Pardon my simply shooting it all. Hint............

Yeah I saw that coming, but since I use that bullet in 243 also I’ve got plenty.

264 Grendel brass,is obviously a single pass to either .243" or .224" and I've quite a few rifles so chambered. 7.62x39 is also but a single pass to .264" or .243",but the case needs fired,to fully form the body/neck. Lotsa ways to get there and no big fhuqking deal. Hint.

The 22PPC Alaskan Fhuqking Improved is simply sensational. Hint..............

I'll have a 6 arc before it's over... bc doesn't do alot for me, as shots past 200 are few and far between in the hills of Tennessee. It's just a truck gun/critter thumper, and something different. I'll probably kill more Armadillos with it than anything.
