I just bought a Henry Big Boy 44 Mag with a 16 1/2" barrel. I'm not even sure if I'll ever use it to hunt with but I might take it deer or hog hunting one day. Even though the range of the 44 mag isn't much, my old eyes would still prefer a scope. What are you guys running on your 44 mags and what would you recommend? Thanks for any input!

I have a Leupold Freedom 1.5-4x20 on my 327 Federal Big Boy lever gun. I like it quite a bit and would put the same scope on a Big Boy 44 magnum.

Thank you Paul! I'll go look at that one right now. I don't think that will break the bank either.

Hey Paul! I just went and looked in my safe and I have the same exact scope on my Ruger AR. I love that scope. I think I might try to find the same scope in a Illuminated version. I think they call it a firedot. Then put the Firedot on my AR and the non-firedot on my 44 mag.

Leupold no longer makes the Freedom series in an illuminated straight tube. You have to jump up to the VX-3 series to get an illuminated straight tube, and that come with a huge price hike. You may be able to find the Freedom series fire dot still in stock somewhere.

I have this one, and like it pretty well. https://www.bushnell.com/riflescope...-illuminated-riflescope/BU-AR71624I.html

They go on sale from time to time. I got mine for for $99 at Brownells. It is made in the Philippines.

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Are you happy with the glass on the Bushnell?
