My Verney - Carron 9.3x63 Impact Plus bolt action take down. And my Beretta Silver Sable 9.3x74R double. Like them both for different reasons.

Ok, here is my soon to be (waiting for it to be shipped from my gunsmith) 9.3x57 based on a Husqvarna Swedish SR Mauser. Now it sports a Remington 700 bolt handle and will be shooting NOE cast Boolits.

That’s nice. Wouldn’t have thought to use a Remington bolt but it looks ok. Speaking of cast bullets, anybody have recommendations for a mold?

Because of this thread I’ve decided to have my inter-war guild gun rebored to 9.3x57. The current 8mm barrel has seen too many corrosive rounds with insufficient care. It. Would probably be accurate enough to kill a deer but i require a bit more. Will try to gather some pics.

The only case bullets I've used in my 9.3s are from the NOE 286gr mold, used to make reduced velocity loads. I've run them from about 1100-2000, lubed with alox and gas checked. Once I find what powder the rifle likes they're minute of grouse face at 50 yards. I've used Unique, Trailboss, and 5744. Strangely, when I tried some without gas checks they keyholed.

Try these Makarov bullets. I shoot the 95gr jacketed bullets over Trailboss in various 9.3s. They're great small game bullets, and the link shows a bunch of cast bullets. The copper coated 95gr bullet looks interesting, especially at $0.09 each.

I tried makarov bullets first and had horrible accuracy. They’re undersized as I recall.

With my M46 and M146 Husqvarna 9.3x57s, I load Sierra 95gr Makarov JHP for inexpensive, no recoil, plinking. I get tighter groups (at 25yds) when the hollowpoints are seated backwards. Presumably, the improved precision is due to the HP acting like the skirts of a pellet in a airgun. The .363mm Makarov bullet loaded backwards more easily obturates to fit the .366mm bore of the 9.3mm rifle with the tiny pinch of pistol powder that I use for these plinking loads.

No pics except in some of my blogs. Mine is a plain-jane Tikka T3 Lite in 9.3 x 62 that I bought new on May 31, 2011. As a hunting rifle it has replaced all my mediums. I'm not an art collector, but I prefer rifles that work as intended. This one works better than the .338 Win Mags I've owned and the .375 H&H's (3 of each). It has never seen a factory ammo product, but from the beginning it digested all handloads with surpassing expectations - except the 270gr Speer. The 250gr AB from Nosler is most accurate with 3 consistently into 0.44" at 100 yds at +2700 fps. I've taken three black bears with three distinct bullets in this order: 286 Hor at +2400 fps (RL -15), 286 NP at +2600 fps (RL-17) and the 250 AB at +2700 fps (RL-17). All shoot sub-moa, including the 232 Oryx (RL-15) and 320gr Woodleigh PP at +2400 fps (RL-17). I load mine to the saame psi as a .338 Win Mag since Tikka made/makes the exact same rifle in .338 WM except with a 2" longer barrel. In a dozen years of use, I've never had any problems with that rifle or loads. Last year I added a muzzle brake because of my age (87) and arthritis. Brass is Hornady and primers are WLRM. Scope is a Bushnell Elite 3-9 x 40mm. At times a bipod is attached.

My 9.3x62 shot well too, but I got bored of it and sent it packing:

Two 9.3x62's both Ruger's. One is an RSI re-barreled to 9.3x62 with a Shilen barrel to match the factory contour and uses the factory rib and front sight. Second is a Hawkeye action with a 20" Krieger barrel, NECG rear sight with a running boar insert, and barrel band front with the WOW night sight all bedded in a MPI Mannlicher stock. I didn't even have that one 3 months before a good friend on Kodiak coaxed it away from me. Both rifles shoot the Speer 270's over a load of Big Game very well and the Barnes 250's over a load of Varget.

You know I never weighed the rifle, but I have another Ruger in 30/06 set up the same way except the barrel length is 18.5" instead of 20" and that one comes in under 7lbs with a Leupold 2-7. I would say that the 9.3 is pretty close to that same weight.
