cool, maybe they will hang around
I passed a field this morning down by a big creek bottom that must have had 3-400 birds in it. There was no where to pull over and get a picture, but it sure was cool to see.
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Wow !!!
Never saw that big of a flock. Had around 100 Merriam's in front of me one day...... Something to see, for sure.

It has been a long time for me as well. We use to see them often on one farm I hunt the most but it has been 10-15 years since we saw flocks like that. Now if we see 20-30 it is a big deal.
I know the guy that owns the big field on the other side of the creek bottom where I saw the big flock yesterday. He lets me hunt on another farm he owns but I have only dove hunted on the farm across from where the big flock was. He has told me that he sees them all the time but his new wife's son hunts down there so I just hunt the other place and will be happy with that.
The birds must have stretcher out over 600 yards or so. very cool for sure
