Guys, did at one point in time, any of your wives, become "difficult"?
I mean more than "less cooperative" difficult?
I mean I say black she says white , and the response is "automatic" as opposed to something someone would consider first.

The real "180 degree syndrome" kicked in when she was hit and hit hard with menopause. I can do NOTHING right. And it may not be just me being 'not exactly a prize' in the marriage lottery...she has no woman friends anymore, not one.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Yes. That usually happens when you have taught them about half of what YOU know which is more than THEY can possibly comprehend. In essence they become smarter than you because of all the magical and mystifying things they know as a woman and that you couldn't possibly know, like how to boil water, do laundry, etc...
The left-right, up-down thing will slowly go away. Although she might get tired of your dumb ass and can it. The way I am presently dealing with it is to simply respond with "yes dear". When she hears that she knows it is time to re-evaluate her response...
I wouldn't trade mine for all the money in the hmmm...

Good afternoon sir, I hope that other things in your world are going better than the subject at hand.
With the understanding that I'm not a doctor or and expert on anything whatsoever, here's what I have observed.
Some women seem to have pretty rough hormonal swings as they age and it absolutely can affect how they deal with life and those around them. There are medications - hormones mostly I believe - that can be prescribed to mitigate that, but there are also sometimes side effects to the meds too.
Unfortunately and I hesitate to mention this, but sometimes mood swings are part of the onset of dementia. Having dealt with that ailment in both my late Mom and late much loved Mom in Law, I hope and pray it's a hormone issue.
The true bugger with either situation is that unless the person suffering from it is much more introspective and logical to begin than most folks are, it's tough to get them to see what's going on. Seemingly logic and reason are the first casualties and my goodness I wish that wasn't what I saw.
Hopefully that is useful information for you or someone out there - again I'm just a little old guy that's gone down a few rough roads but am no doctor, etc.
Regardless of all the above, I do wish the best for you in 2023.
