I only paid 450 for a takedown 250 with tang sight and extra 300 barrel. By the way, can 250 be formed from 308 brass? Thanks, Todd

First, it says its an E not an F, second $450 for a shot gun padded "fair" conditioned gun you think is cheap????

C'mon, tell the truth, this is your gun. Right?

Tal35, yes you can form 308 into 250 Sav brass. I've done about 200 cases that way when I first started shooting my Sav back in the mid 80's. I was using M-60 brass since the marines liked giving that stuff to my dad lol. At the time we didn't have a 308 so the 250 was a logical use. You will have to trim after you size it, I just used a LEE sizing die & annealed the necks, go slow so you don't crush the cases. Good luck

It is a 1960 model that used up the last of the old receivers. A hard one to find in .250 but the condition is a killer.

RAM,

It might be listed as a 99E, but it isn't a 99E is it?????????

My dear Ross, I just used a little deductive reasoning to determine that it is a 99F. Given its configuration in terms of safety location, barrel length, and wood, it is obviously not a 99E, EG, or R, so it must be a 99F (or a parts gun). From what I have seen, the 250-3000 cartridge has its own cult following and I have found post-WWII 99Fs in 250-3000 to be rather hard to find in any condition. Although this rifle is not a jem, perhaps the seller will deal when it doesn't bring $450. As I always say; "NVNG, nothing ventured, nothing gained". The worst that the seller can say is "No" and if he is offended, well tough cookies for him, this is business.

No, it is not mine. I don't recall having owned a 99F in 250-3000 with a recoil pad. I do have 99DL in 250-3000 that arrived with a recoil pad, but not a 99F. My 2 99F 250-3000s, a lever safety and a tang safety, are in very minty condition and have been safely tucked away in the safe since Bearrr264 found them for me.

Jeff

PS, I'm going to the KC gunshow to hang out with Rick99 today, is there anything that I can look for, for you?

Speaking of Bearrr264, what happened to him? He hasn't posted in a couple of months. I hope he is OK. Enjoyed his posts.
