I'm seeing more and more suppressed rifles and handguns in the gun magazines, gun forums, and on TV. The more that I think about them, the more sense that they make. I have several patches of woods in which safe shooting practices would allow for hunting or target shooting, but their distances from houses dissuade me from shooting there due to the noise. With a suppressor, the noise would likely be reduced enough to shoot there without reservation. A suppressed .22 might be just the ticket. But, the administrative hurdles and long wait times have, so far, kept me away.
Just curious: How many on here have suppressed guns, and how do you like them? Are they worth the administrative hassle and wait?

The only suppressors I have are the ones I made out of a solvent trap, and I put them on my unregistered assault weapons that also have grenade launchers and a chainsaw attachment. If you'd like more information, please email me at tips fbi.gov.

Yes. It swaps between my AR and my .22BR bolt action. I really like it. It really blunts the noise and concussion and helps with recoil (not that either rifle kicks much to start with). It does add length and a bit of weight to the front of the gun.
Next up is a .22rf can.

Nope. My best friend has a bunch. He hasn't shot one in years and I'm not impressed.

I sent a Ruger Mark II to Curtis Tactical and they rebuilt the upper to include an integral suppressor. The gun now looks just like other linger barreled Ruger but just makes a nice “pssst” when I squeeze the trigger. Worth the hassle if the paperwork for me.

C'mon man. I demand higher quality surveillance from you feds. I pay a lot of taxes and if this is the best subterfuge you can come up with you suck.

Just curious: How many on here have suppressed guns, and how do you like them? Are they worth the administrative hassle and wait? Yes! Get a 30 cal can and it will do center fire 30 cal and less but not rimfire (too dirty). Get a separate rimfire can. Best deal in town is Silencer shop trust: https://www.silencershop.com/services/single-shot-trust.htmlOf course... YMMV.

I like the idea of them and have shot a few and enjoyed the reduction of noise and some recoil.
But I just can't warm up to the the big honking thing out on the end of a hunting rifle.

Probably trolling for an argument but not a Fed. The fed’s already know who we are it’s called a tax stamp.

Have one on my 22 Hornet. Had the barrel cut to 16” and you don’t even know it’s there. Nice and quiet. It’s a Banish .22 BTW.
