I put a want to buy a particular scope I got a PM that I screen shot but IMGUR would not let me load so I CCed the PM leaving out the newer members ID it is as follows I got a text from this person that didnt seem right I looked for pictures of the item and found a link in another forum You can see the pictures sent (use the link) and the ones on the other forum (also use the link) kind of look alike I have not put the members name incase I am wrong If I am I will be first to admit it Hank Hey Man, I have a Like new Meopta Meopro 3.5-10x44 with the illuminated dot BDC-2 reticle. This is a fantastic scope but the rifle it sat on was sold and it no longer has a home. Glass is pristine and no ring marks from the Talley Lightweights. You can never be too cautious these days and if the seller is legit hopefully, they will understand. You aren't picking on them, just looking out for yourself. If someone questioned something I was peddling I would understand their concerns.
I am always looking for factory wood stocks!

Ask him to send you a picture showing the scope and todays newspaper with the date showing.
If he can’t provide the picture, then he does not possess the scope.

If he can’t provide the picture, then he does not possess the scope. Plus, Have him wear a red, or blue shirt, or some color you requested so you know it is him also. Have him put a hard to copy object in picture also. You can’t be too careful with these friggin scammers. ALSO,,,, LOOK at the date the scope was listed on the Hunt to Hunt site or whatever it is. The post date on it is MAY 16, 2021. I would be very concerned about buying this scope!! Price, and duration of add on other site.. Flags, be careful.

Seriously I know this the the preferred method but other than a who used to bring one into work, I couldn’t tell you the last newspaper I saw in person. I’m sure there’s other possibilities. And this is definitely a scammer.

That’s a hard pass, definitely same photos, same serial #, copy and paste wording. If it does work out to be the same person who still has it I’d be surprised. Something similar happened to me recently looking at a barrel and die set. I found an old ad with same photos and wording matching the reply I got to a WTB. “Seller” responses became less and less after some very specific questions. I let it lay.
