Oneoneshot: I am enclosing a link to a gunshop 80 miles from me - the last time I was there they had 3 Model 36's - none of which were nickel plated but all were in very good+ condition.
Navigate the site to Smith & Wesson Revolvers and they show pictures/prices of at least two of those revolvers and one new one I had not seen. Maybe the third one I saw has sold since I was there last?
I was half heartedly dealing on the "square butt" Model 36 that is shown it was cool and in great shape.

are there no S & W Model 36s out there? I bought one here last year for my wife and have decided I like it well enough to get another.

My 36 certainly won't make 95%. It has spent the last 30 years in an ankle holster. I have a new (old) in the box model 60 to replace it when the time comes. I love my J Frames!

thanks, I have located one, pretty rough, so I will keep looking. They are great guns; I am especially fond of the size and how it fits my hand.
